Blake Jones to Drive for Lira Motorsports at Iowa Speedway
Blake Jones, the winner of the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards International Motorsports Hall of Fame 200 race at Talladega Superspeedway earlier this year, will pilot the No. 38 Lira Motorsports Ford Fusion in the #ThisIsMySpeedway150 at Iowa Speedway on Friday, July 17th.
The 18-year-old, recent high school graduate has competed in three previous ARCA Series races, with his win at Talladega coming in his second career series start. Blake is the youngest driver in ARCA Series history to race, and to win, at Talladega Superspeedway. Friday’s race will be Blake’s first time on the track at Iowa Speedway.
“We are very excited to have Blake come over and drive for us in Iowa,” said team owner Carlos Lira. “We’ve had our eyes on him in all three of his ARCA starts this year, and we’re very impressed with his talent behind the wheel.”
Blake commented: “I’m very excited for this opportunity to drive the #38 car for Lira Motorsports! I watched Ryan Reed win with this team a few weeks ago, and I’m hopin to keep the wins going. This team is First Class and with a little luck, maybe we will be in victory lane with Teddy Brown and the whole #38 crew!”
Blake’s primary sponsors for the race will Asphalt Services of TN (asphaltservicesoftn.com) and the Blake Jones Racing Center (blakejonesracingcenter.com). Additionally, season-long Lira Motorsports sponsors Momo, Ford Performance and TraqGear will serve as associate sponsors on his number 38 Ford Fusion.
The #ThisIsMySpeedway150 will be televised live on Fox Sports 1 on Friday, July 17th at 8:00pm Central.
