ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards rookie driver David Levine brought home a 13th place finish at Berlin Raceway on Saturday. It was his first time at the Marne, Michigan .4375 mile track, and his 12th first-time track on the ARCA Series 2015 schedule.

The weekend started well for David, with a decent Lira Motorsports Momo / Ford Performance / TraqGear Ford Fusion in both of Saturday’s practice sessions. He posted the 12th fastest lap time in the first session, then picked up almost 2/10ths of a second to record the 11th fastest time in final practice for the Federated Auto Parts 200. He qualified his No. 58 Lira Motorsports Ford in the 15th position.

David fell back a few positions in the early stages of the race, but positive changes during pit stops under three of the four caution periods of the race enabled him to battle back to a 13th place finish. He will retain both his position atop the ARCA Series Scott Rookie Challenge standings, as well as his spot at 5th in the overall series driver points standings, with 15 of 20 races on the ARCA schedule now in the books.

David and his family are taking advantage of the two-week break until the next race by taking a short vacation. He promises to be rested and ready for action when the ARCA Series visits the Illinois State Fairgrounds for the Allen Crowe 100 on August 23rd.

“Racing on the dirt is going to be fun,” he said. “I really don’t know what to expect. I’ve been told that my background as a road course racer will help me transition to dirt, because of the level of car control that is necessary to get through the turns. We’ll see what happens. I’ll be ready!”
