Solid Performance For Brandon Lynn In His ARCA Debut At Salem

DSC_9453_CroppedBrandon Lynn turned in a solid performance in his ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards debut at Salem Speedway on Saturday. The young driver, originally from Penn Yann, NY raced to a 13th place finish in the Federated Car Care Fall Classic 200.

Behind the wheel of the number 36 Lira Motorsports Ford Fusion with primary sponsorship from Cribs Creek Outfitters, Brandon was consistently among the fastest drivers in the 33 car field in all of the on-track activity throughout the day. He recorded the 11th fastest time in first practice, then the 7th fastest time in final practice. He qualified in the 13th position.

Tires were a concern for all of the teams, as each team was only allowed the tires they started on plus an additional set of four tires for the entire 200 laps race on the rough, high-banked .555 mile track. In order to manage his tire wear, Brandon dropped back a few positions early in the race. He steadily gained those positions back, racing his way into the top ten by the midway point of the race.

Brandon made a pit stop for tires and fuel during the fourth and final caution of the race on lap 160. He rejoined the field in the 13th position, then held that spot through the checkered flag.

After the race, Brandon commented “We had a great weekend. The car was really fast, and good on the long run. We really needed a caution with about 50 to go. Everyone on the team worked so hard to get this car where it needed to be for the race – I couldn’t have asked for any more. I want to thank everyone at Lira Motorsports, our sponsors Cribs Creek Outfitters, Momo, TraqGear and Ford Performance, as well as my family and friends for coming to support me. We will move on from here, and start preparing for Kentucky.”

Brandon is participating in ARCA’s open test at Kentucky, which will be his first time on a 1.5 mile track. He will make his second ARCA Racing Series start in the Crosley Brands 150 on Friday night. The Crosley Brands 150 will be broadcast live on Fox Sports 1 beginning at 8:00pm.
