Levine and Lira Team Up For Sports Car Racing On ARCA Off Weekend
October 1, 2015 (Braselton, GA) Although it is an off weekend for the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards, ARCA Racing Series drivers David Levine and Michael Lira are not home relaxing. The Lira Motortsports duo are teaming up to race in the IMSA Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge (CTSC) race on Saturday at Road Atlanta.
This will be the first sports car race of the year for Levine, the ARCA Series rookie driver who is in close contention for the ARCA Scott Rookie Challenge title. Levine competed full-time in IMSA competition from 2012 through 2014.
It will be the third IMSA CTSC race this year for Lira, who competed in the season-opening event at Daytona in January and the Monterey Grand Prix at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in May.
The pair is competing in a Ford Mustang Boss 302R in the IMSA CTSC GS Division. Their schedule includes practice and qualifying today, followed by the 2.5 hour race on Friday beginning at 12:15 p.m. ET. The race can be viewed via live stream on the IMSA.com website.
David will return to his number 59 Lira Motorsports Momo/Ford Performance/TraqGear ARCA Racing Ford Fusion for the 2015 ARCA Racing Series season finale, the Full Throttle S’loonshine 98.9. The race, scheduled for October 16th will start at 7:30pm, with live coverage on FOX Sports 1.
