MOORESVILLE, N.C. (December 15, 2015)—Lira Motorsports announces today that 19 year-old, Heather Lynn, will be participating in a private testing event on Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at the New Smyrna Speedway in New Smyrna Beach, Fla.Heather Lynn, a Penn Yann, N.Y., native and current Charlotte, N.C., resident, will pilot the No. 57 Pro-Late Model for Lira Motorsports during this event. Lynn is the younger sister to current team driver, Brandon Lynn, who made three ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards starts in the 2015 season, collecting all top 15 place finishes. Brandon will be on site as well to learn about and shake down the new ARCA composite Ford Fusion.

“Everyone has been asking about my thoughts on being able to get behind the wheel of a car again and it really hasn’t hit me until now. Ever since I was a kid I had plans on being the racing industries next best thing and everyone knows that doesn’t happen overnight,” Lynn said.

As for Heather, her past racing experience includes being behind the wheel of a Legend car and a Bandolero. Lynn has been racing competitively with her brother in their family owned race team since 2006.”It takes everything from long nights spent in the race shop to long and exhausting hours at the track,” Lynn said. “Most of the time it didn’t matter to me what we had to do to be at the track every single week, I would be putting in 110% all the time to make sure I could make my dad and my mom proud.” One particular race that stands out for Heather was her career best, third place finish at the Lanier Speedway in Braselton, Ga., where she was the dominant car in practice, and qualified on the pole, only to be passed on the last lap.

“This opportunity that has opened up for me is truly a blessing and one in a million I can’t thank my father and Carlos enough for making this possible. Not only will I be testing a late model but I will be running along side of my brother who is the current driver in the No. 36 Ford Fusion with Lira Motorsports. I’ve always hoped that the day would come that I get to be a teammate alongside of my brother for him to not only be a leader for me but to guide, in ways that will prepare me for what’s to come in the future.”

In addition to racing, Heather works at the family owned business, Cribs Creek Outfitters, located in Polkton, N.C.
