SUCCESSFUL TEST AND TUNE AT NEW SMYRNA
MOORESVILLE, N.C. (December 17, 2015) – Record setting heat at the New Smyrna Speedway in New Smyrna Beach, Fla., didn’t stop the four car ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards Lira Motorsports fleet from their day long test. The temperature reached a record setting high of 84 degrees for this time of the year in Florida.
All four Ford Fusion composite bodies took the track for a team total of 405 laps around the half-mile.
Multiple setups were constructed to establish the adjustments that may be needed for long and short runs when the team shows up to the track in the 2016 ARCA Racing Series season. All four teams were nearly within two tenths of each other during their long race runs the entire day.
Travis Swaim, a North Carolina native, took the time to shake down and learn the handle of his Ford Fusion taking the most laps out of the entire team. Swaim, a former UARA-STARS Champion brought his knowledge and background of racing to the table by running a total 104 laps individually. “We went through a lot of changes. This car is a lot different than what I am used to, the late models have a lot more roll to them,” Swaim said. Travis complemented on the professionalism of how well his team worked together and is ready to get the 2016 season underway.
Brandon Lynn, JA Junior, Clayton Weatherman, and Josh Williams were among those to test using the newly approved ARCA Racing Series Ford Fusion composite bodies allowing themselves to adapt to the handling and work closely with the Lira Motorsports crew.
