SAM ADAMS TESTING AT NEW SMYRNA FRIDAY FEBRUARY 5

11907170_10206271283439491_8971166305285460313_nPORT ORANGE, FL (February 4, 2016)—MAZDASPEED stand out, Sam Adams will test at the New Smyrna (Fla.) Speedway in the No. 68 Pro-Late Model (PLM) for Lira Motorsports on Friday, February 5, 2016.

Sam Adams, a Hubertus, Wisconsin native will strap in behind the wheel of just one of the Lira Motorsports PLM as part of the driver development program in 2016. Adams comes to team with an impressive stat sheet. Sam has competed at tracks like- Road America, Sebring International Raceway, Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, Canadian Tire Motorsports Park, Road Atlanta, and Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.

In 2014, Adams won the Skip Barber Racing School (SBRS) MAZDASPEED Challenge Summer Series championship after collecting seven series wins, claiming five poles, and taking nine podium finishes, as well as earning rookie of the year. As for 2015, Sam finished second in the championship points standing for the SBMX MAZDASPEED Pro Challenge with Battery Tender Mazda MX-5 Cup with three wins, seven podium finishes, and starting from the pole four times in 12 series starts, as well as collecting rookie of the year.

Sam Adams holds qualifying track records at the Canadian Tire Motorsports Park and Road America beating the time of Kenton Koch.

“I am really excited. I grew up watching the Top-3 NASCAR series on television and always wanted to give it a try so it should be interesting and a good experience behind the wheel of the Pro-Late Model at New Smyrna,” Sam Adams said. The 17-year old looks to take his first laps around an oval with the help of team Director of Driver Development, Michael Lira coaching him over the radio.
