HEATHER LYNN TO RUN 50TH WORLD SERIES FOR LIRA MOTORSPORTS
PORT ORANGE, FL (February 16, 2016) — As the 50th anniversary of the World Series at New Smyrna Speedway gets underway, Lira Motorsports driver, Heather Lynn, will be taking the wheel of the #57 Ford Pro-Late Model (PLM) this Wednesday and Thursday, February 17 – 18.
“The opportunity to race in New Smyrna Speedweeks is awesome.,” Heather Lynn said. I feel like I am getting to follow in the foot steps of my brother and that is what makes it so much more inspiring for me, we have both came a long way and I can’t be any happier with where I am at in life.”
Lynn is a 19 year-old originally out of Penn Yann, N.Y., but currently resides in Charlotte, N.C. She has experience in Legends and Bandoleros from her family-owned and operated race team. She is the younger sister of Brandon Lynn who is an ARCA Racing Series driver on the Lira Motorsports roster.
Lynn proved her worth when she ran her first ever PLM race at New Smyrna Speedway, the Zack Donatti Memorial PLM 100 on January 2nd. She qualified 19th and drove her way up to a sixth place finish. She also tested at New Smyrna Speedway for Lira Motorsports in December
“Going into this race with experience at this track definitely helps out due to the fact you have two types of drivers, some are more aggressive and some are calm and collected. In these short runs its going to be all about who is more aggressive behind the wheel. Having experience here at this track makes me more comfortable because I know where you cannot mess up. All in all, I am looking forward to some good clean racing.”
The World Series is practically a kick-off of the PLM and SLM seasons, it runs alongside NASCAR Speedweeks at Daytona International Speedway which brings in a gargantuan crowd, a load of the big-names in racing, and a certain level of prestige to the week-long worth of racing. The week hosts the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East, SLMs, PLMs, Tour-Type Modifieds, Florida Modifieds, and more.
“It means a lot to me to be able to run up front with some big name drivers and especially during the World Series of Racing. I am elated for this opportunity. Hopefully some day I will be part of an even bigger series and also I can’t wait to show my worth here at New Smyrna Speedway.”
Lynn would like to thank Lira Motorsports and the sponsors Cribs Creek Outfitters and RevMark “The Quick Draw Marker” for making this opportunity available.
