Creed and McQuarrie to Test Salem for Lira Motorsports
Lira Motorsports announces today that they will be testing at Salem Speedway in preparation for the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards event in two weeks with drivers Sheldon Creed and Tyler McQuarrie.
“My thoughts heading into Salem test are curious to see what the track is all about,” Creed said. “I’ve only been told about the track but never seen it so excited to see it in person.”
Creed will be running the rest of the schedule with Lira Motorsports this season with Safecraft Safety Equipment on board of his No. 38 Ford Fusion. It is vital for him to get the proper experience behind the wheel at Salem. He has only tested Fairgrounds Speedway Nashville and Motor Mile Speedway for the team, but Salem has a completely different configuration than either one.
Creed also said that it’s important to get the proper race setup while at the test. Coming off a top-ten finish, he’s determined to succeed even more. He believes he has a great chance at Salem if he and the team can work together to get a proper setup.
Tyler McQuarrie, a multi-time Formula DRIFT champion, will be testing with the team at Salem as well. He has done well in every form of motorsports that he has been a part of, so he decided he should make a move to stock car racing.
The test wouldn’t be his first time in a stock car, however. McQuarrie has a two races worth of experience in the NASCAR Autozone Southwest series from 2003-2004, scoring one top-5 and one top-10. He also tested at Motor Mile Speedway with the Lira Motorsports team in March.
“It’s an honor being able to work with Lira Motorsports. I’m excited to see how this test goes and the opportunities that could become available in the future. We were really fast during the test at Motor Mile, so I’m excited to see how this test will go for us” McQuarrie said.
