Creed Ready for Talladega Test with Lira Motorsports
Lira Motorsports announces today that Sheldon Creed, full-time driver of the No. 38 Safecraft Ford Fusion, will be testing the high banks of Talladega on Monday, April 18, in preparation for the General Tire 200 on April 29.
“I’ve tested at Kansas before, but that’s the largest track I’ve ever been on,” Creed said. “Talladega is much bigger, so I can’t wait to see what it’s like and how a car handles there.”
This is a big transition for Creed. While familiar with short tracks, he is looking forward to his superspeedway transition. It’s a transition that he believes won’t be easy but a challenge, a huge learning curve that he’s excited to tackle.
“The transition from a short track to a superspeedway is huge. I believe short tracks have a lot more to do with the driver rather than the superspeedways, but it’s about managing the draft. Drafting becomes a factor which I’ll have to learn quick coming in to the race,” Creed said.
Creed is excited for the opportunity to test at Talladega. He knows the prestige that the track holds and the history within it.
“I’m looking forward to being at Talladega and taking in the history of it all. I can’t thank Carlos and Safecraft enough for giving me the opportunity to run with this team.”
